How to buy credit
It's easy to buy Skype Credit. All you need to do is visit the Account page, sign in with your details, and set up a payment. Depending on where in the world you live, there are lots of different ways to pay for Skype Credit, including credit card and PayPal.
Does my credit last for ever?
No. If you don't use your credit (e.g. by calling a phone or cell) for 180 days in a row, your credit will expire. We do this to comply with normal business accounting rules (not very exciting, we know). Anyway, if you're getting close to the expiry date, we send you alert emails 30, then 7 days before it's due to run out, so we give you plenty of warning to use some credit and keep it active for another 180 days.
Checking your balance
You can see how much credit you have in your account just by signing into MySpaceIM with Skype. Your balance is displayed under the Call Phones tab, right beside the button to View Account. Alternatively, you can click this button or go through the website to log into your account to check your balance and also see the status of any orders you have made.
Cancelled/refused payment
To protect you and ourselves, MySpaceIM with Skype has a strict anti-fraud process. While this is a good thing all round, it sometimes means that a few genuine users have payments blocked or refused.
There are many reasons for this - perhaps we see a lot of stolen cards from your card company, or perhaps we don't get the necessary verifications from your banking institution. If you have tried to pay with a credit card, and you are sure you have entered your details correctly, please try again with a card issued by a different bank or credit card company.
If you still have problems, we offer a more secure payment method through moneybookers.com. Moneybookers is a fully regulated financial company, who may also request you to fax or email a copy of your documents before opening the account. Your information is safe with them. Alternatively PayPal is a great option for many people. Paypal has over 70 million users worldwide and is quick and easy to use. We are improving this situation from week to week, as we strive to accept payments from users anywhere in the world.
Blocked account
Skype or its affiliates may limit, suspend, or terminate your use of Skype products and software, prohibit access to Skype’s website, remove hosted content, and take technical and legal steps to keep you off Skype’s website if we think that you are in breach of our Terms of Service, creating problems, possible legal liabilities, acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies, infringing someone else’s intellectual property rights, engaging in fraudulent, immoral or illegal activities, if you purchased Skype credit from an unauthorized reseller, or for other similar reasons, with immediate effect and without recourse to the courts. Skype shall effect such termination by preventing your access to your account and to the Skype services. If you provided a valid email address, Skype may provide notice to you by email.
